We Love our Lowcountry…and so Does Everyone Else!

Conde Nast Traveler announced its coveted Reader’s Choice Awards and Hilton Head Island has been chosen as the #1 Island in the United States…again.

Last year the Hawaiian Islands of Maui and Oahu claimed the top two spots, but this year we’ve risen to the top of the list and we’re extremely proud to be chosen by thousands of savvy travelers and readers of one of the most trusted names in travel—Conde Nast.

As you know, in August we were also selected as the #1 Island in the Continental U.S. by Travel + Leisure, and honored to be the #2 Island in the World.

Both of these awards chosen by readers have tremendous brand value especially when you consider the competitive nature of the travel industry, and the numerous options today’s travelers have to choose from. This coveted third-party endorsement of our destination, from two of the most upscale media outlets in the marketplace, speaks volumes about the overall cachet and health of the Hilton Head Island brand.

It’s recognition that pays dividends for every resident and business in the Lowcountry.  Real estate, retail, restaurants, resorts, as well as businesses that cater to our local community all benefit from not only this award, but the numerous others received, and those that continue to be garnered by both Bluffton and Hilton Head Island.

Kudos to our members. It’s a collective and unified effort that makes awards like this possible. As the saying goes…a rising tide lifts all boats, and this award is one that will pay dividends for all of us. From a healthy resale value for your home to the community amenities we all enjoy thanks to our guests from around the world.

The full-page ad below will run in tomorrow’s Island Packet to reflect just how fortunate we are to live and work in the Lowcountry.

The last line of the ad says it best…There Really is No Place Like Home.

Sincerely,

Bill Miles, IOM, CCE
President & CEO
